Procedures and Checklist

Thank you for your interest in San Marcos Academy. We welcome your application for admission to our school.

A completed admissions file consists of the following items:

  1. Online Inquiry: Start by creating a parent account in our Blackbaud Enrollment Management System (BB-EMS).
  2. Upload all supporting documents onto the appropriate checklist item.
  3. Complete online application and pay $150 application fee through your parent account.
  4. Contact us to schedule your parent/student visit and interview. Cub Preview is required for PreK and Kindergarten applicants.
  5. Additional information and/or testing should be submitted if requested by the admissions staff.
  6. The Admissions file will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee and parents will be notified of their decision.

Application Deadlines

Applications are accepted year round for all students, but those submitted by February 1 will receive priority consideration. International Students priority consideration begins December 1. When all spaces in any grade level are filled, additional qualified candidates are placed into the waitpool for consideration should openings occur.

The Admissions Committee will meet to consider the applicant once they have a completed admissions file. Parents will be notified of their decision with an email containing the information and instructions for completing the enrollment process.

Final Steps

Once a student is accepted, parents will have two weeks to complete the enrollment contract and pay the tuition deposit to save their child’s spot in the class.

Boarding students pay a non-refundable deposit of $1,000 while all Day Students, pay a non-refundable deposit of $250. New International Students must pay a deposit of $7,000 for the Academy to issue an I-20 ($500 is non-refundable should the student fail to acquire a visa). All deposits are applied to the total program cost for attendance.
